How can I prove I was fired from my job and that I didn't quit?

-I was fired from my job, no if's and's or but's, and I started collecting unemployment but now my ex-employer is appealing saying that I voluntarily quit and continued work was avaliable for me. THAT IS COMPLETELY UNTRUE. Now my problem is that I have an appeal hearing coming up but I have no idea how to prove that I was fired that day. I have no first hand witnesses. But then again I don't see how they have proof to say I voluntarily quit because I never signed any papers or made a statement of any sort. Any suggestions that'll help me win my appeal will be great because this is truly unfair. It's been a constant battle. You have no way to prove that you were fired. You do not sign any papers when you quit a job. It will be your word against the employers. You may end up having to repay the money you already received from unemployment so you need to be extremely careful with your finances until the appeal is over and an official decision is made.
Ask them to give you an offer letter and a solid contract to continue working, if continuing employment is still available.

P.S. If you ever are fired again, ask for it in writing, ask to talk to your boss's boss, and make sure that several people at the company know the facts.
tell the truth...

what more can you do

if you lose at least your lost truthfully.

If you are fired for cause, you are normally not eligible for unemployment.

So really there is no reason why the company would say you were fired vs you quit voluntarily.
Do not miss your appeal meeting. In Minnesota if one party is a no show for an appeal the party that attends wins by default. If you lose an appeal file your own appeal. Make them attend. Also I believe no new 'evidence or issues are allowed'. Good luck!
They have to do "exit paperwork" when you are fired ..... I would also call your state's department of labor and ask them what you can do.
You don't get UE if you were fired for cause either, so it's kind of a moot point. Why did they fire you?
