What color suit should i get?

-Each year my university has a lot of firms that come and interview students for internship opportunities. i want to prepare by getting a skirt suit. I'm an accounting major so I was wondering what kind of color suit should I get considering how conservative this field is?

I've heard you can't go wrong with navy blue, dark grey, or black. Between these three though, which would be the best choice? What color do you like? Any dark color, including brown, is considered "corporate". You need a plain shirt for under the jacket and some sensible court shoes in an appropriate tone for the suit. And carry a small plain style handbag that also tones in. Classic tailored styling is best ie fitted button up jacket with a straight shirt finishing just above the knee.

My personal preference is navy blue. The best color for you is the one that you feel most confident in. When you go to buy the suit, if you trust the person selling it to you - ask them to be honest and critical about how it looks on you.

Forgot to sign a check?

-I'm working in a grocery store. I had a customer that wanted to cashed his third party check. So, I ran it to a certegy machine to get an approval, and it was approved. I just realized now that I forgot to ask the customer to sign/endorse the third party check and the check was already sent in the bank yesterday. In the front of the check, I have his phone number, driver's license #.,

now, I'm worried if the bank will not accept it because of no signature in the back of the check. and will return back to our store! I might get written up on this one..

I hope this is not really a huge mistake. :(

Best Buy Interview Questions/ Details?

-Hi, I recently got a call for a scheduled interview this Tuesday (7/26) with Best Buy for the position as a Sales Associate. I just want to know what questions they ask, or any details regarding the interview that I should be aware of. If hired, this will be my first job so I do not know what to expect in this job interview as it is my first. Thanks!this isnt an ad im just telling u wat i did. look up "bestbuy interview questions glassdoor" on google. its on glassdoor.com. They have most interview questions up there but everyones is different so you should look them up and prepare good answers. you should also dress in formal attire like yur interviewing for a business job. I had an interview there too and thts wat i did and it was my first job like u. I walked right out because the ppl who worked there were rude and nerdy. All i wanted to do was punch tht guy in the face lol. But thts just at the best buy where im at. What you should know is tht there fairly serious about who they hire. It's a pretty big step forward for a first job. I found tht out the hard way. It's not like an interview to work at your local grocery store. You should be an outspoken and outgoing person. If you are outspoken and quick to answer these kinds of questions then you should be fine. If you're shy and get nervous easily u will probably not get the job unless u practice for about 2 days. If this is your first face to face interview then after they will give u a call for another interview if u did good on the first one. good luck

Can you get into law school with just an associates degree?

-No.

Don't waste your time or money on law school. Law school is a scam. It will cost you $150,000+.

Besides, there are NO jobs in the vocational field of Law. Just do a search here on Yahoo Answers regarding this - the news isn't good.

For the best chances of future job availability, go into Healthcare.No. But the best thing to do would look up the requirements for the school you're interested in and maybe talk to someone. Sometimes schools will take life experience as credit, though not usually.
Hey Andrea,

A Bachelor's degree is absolutely required for law school, so an Associate's degree will not be enough.

Good luck!
No but you can get into paralegal school. The pay's pretty good and there's not NEARLY the responsibility.

Anyone has an associates degree in Business Administration what are the jobs opportunities like?

-what kind of jobs can i get with this degreeManager if you have experience.

Wages For a Bookkeeper / Accounting Clerk in the Bay Area?

-So I am offered a permanent position as a bookkeeper / accounting clerk for this company.

The manager is asking for my proposed hourly wage.

Is 35-7K a year a fair offer? That comes to around $17 to $18 an hour

I believe the job is closer to "accounting clerk" then a Bookkeeper. Bookkeepers seems to get pay more according to online research (42K vs 36K on Indeed.com, or 45K vs 38K on Salary.com)

What jobs with benefits are available for an unskilled younger woman?

-my girlfriend is 22 and currently a waitress at a local restaurant. she is looking to find a job that has more regular hours (m-f) and has some basic benefits such as health insurance, paid days off, etc. she went to school for a year in high school for some medical stuff but didn't like it so she stopped pursuing it. so what I'm wondering is if anyone knows of any type of job she could look to get into that would fit the criteria I listed above...since she's basically been waiting tables since HS, she doesn't have too many special skills that a lot of jobs look for today. any constructive ideas are welcome, thanks

What kind of jobs do CEOs have?

are they industrial designers?

What kind of jobs make people become CEO?

I feel like i'm bad at my job!!! what should i do?

-ok so i recently started working at a pizza place. my first day of training was june 26 and i have worked about 10 times since then. i just feel like i'm doing so bad. my manager put me on phones and i'm not that experienced so when both phone lines are ringing off the hook it gets overwhelming at times and my boss tells me to just do the register. so i really hope i get better as i get more experienced but i'm just nervous because my boss is about to fire one girl who has been working here for 3 months because she still isn't the best at phones! i'm sooooo scared that i am going to get fired and that my boss isn't impressed. i could give two shits what my manager thinks because she never has anything nice to say. but her rude, 'wise' comments still hurt my feelings and when i go home all i think about is work and all of the negative feedback i've gotten. what is the best way to get those rude comments out of my head??? work is consuming my thoughts! please help me!!!Just don't let them get to your head. A lot of people that feel like they have authority over others use that to their advantage and abuse their position. If you try your hardest, and only get negative feedback...well then that's wrong. You've not worked that much at all, especially since June?? That's ridiculous. I always get put down at my job too, and I've been trying my HARDEST not to let it get to my head. I agree it can be difficult. But now that I've started to not give a **** about what they say to me, and just do my job as I know I'm supposed to...they've stopped harassing me. Trust me, honey..this isn't going to be the only job you have in your life (: You'll find that one job you absolutely love. Until then, just try your hardest, and don't let anything they say get to you. They're just being bitchy...they should know how hard it was for them when they started out. They're just immature. If 2 phones are ringing at the same time, he doesn't expect you to answer both simultaneously :) Just grab one and ask if they can please hold, mute it then grab the other.
I'm surprised you haven't got fired yet.
It's only pizza, I wouldn't worry about it. It's not really a job you want to spend your life doing.

What is minimum wage?

-$7.25 last i knew. Thats what im getting paid now$7.25 last i knew. Thats what im getting paid nowwhat is minimum wage?

the lowest wage paid

what is THE minimum wage?

depends on where you are

there are a lot of wrong answers here on this subject,

the federal minimum wage which is set under FLSA is $7.25 an hour but FLSA only covers certain businesses....

state laws cover all the businesses in their state (except those which are exempt) and may have a HIGHER or LOWER minimum wage, some states have NO minimum wage at all.....

to understand what businesses are covered by FLSA see:

http://www.dol.gov/whd/regs/compliance/w鈥?/a>

for a list of all the state's minimum wages see:

http://www.dol.gov/whd/minwage/america.h鈥?/a>
Set by Federal as 7.25

States can raise it but not lower it.

There are interesting laws and loopholes with it. For example a server at a restaurant an be paid less than minimum wage if theorized tips can make it up to minimum wage.
Minimum wage is the lowest possible salary that businesses can pay its employees whether per hour, per day, or per month, as mandated by law.
the minimum amount of money an employer can pay you per hour.

As of now it is 7.25 an hour set by the federal government. states can raise it though.
Minimum wage is the lowest legal amount a company can pay you, as defined by the government.
Federal is $7.25

States set their own minimum wage

Counties set a higher living wage
the least amount of money that your job offers. The more experience you have, the more money you earn!
7.25/hour, but some states have a higher wage.
the average salary an occupation pays an employee with no college degree

Is this a job that travels?

-I want to do computer networking. Preferably traveling the country and world frequently setting up and troubleshooting networks. Is this possible? Also what would I major in in college to be able to do that? Thanks ahead!Yes,of cause ...

Can someone expunge there record and still be able to be a nurse?

-My friend wants to be a nurse and we both go to college. He recently just started and I'm a nursing major and I didn't know if he can try to be a nurse even if he gets it expunge. He wanted to be a teacher at first but I know that even if you do expunge he can't. I just want to know if he has a chance to become a nurse when he gets his record expunge. Thanks!!What is he trying to get expunged? Is it a State or Federal Felony? If he gets it expunged at its federal it will still show up on a criminal back ground check, but only as "Federal Felony- Conviction set aside" or something to that effect. Odds are any HR person worth there salt will ask the nature of the offense and why its sealed. Now state felonies are completely different. IF the state the felony was committed in shares information freely then it will show up. If not, then it won't come up in the interview

How is working at Target?

-(sale floor job)

I submitted my application online to work at a Target store in my area about a week and a half ago now. Anyways, I had a couple of questions that I wanted to ask on here:

1) How do you land the interview after submitting the application online?

2) How are the working conditions within the company in regards to the amount of hours you work, the way management treats you as an employee, and the pay that you get per hour?

3) If you have worked at Target, please describe what you liked and didn't like about the company.

Thank you all so much for your help in advance because I definitely appreciate all of your answers!

Work hours for someone underage...?

-I you are under 18 the latest that you can work until midnight so if someone underage had to work until 2 am or so and got pulled over would they be in trouble for being out past curfew even with a clock out slip since they weren't even supposed to be working that late anyways? Because my boyfriend is 17 and works at mcdonalds and on the schedule he was supposed to work until 11 but he doesn't get off until 2 am can they do that? Or is it against the law?ye its fine

Are there any jobs that are for high school graduates that dont need you standing up all day...?

so are there any jobs that wont have me in severe pain by the end of the day?the job at home? taking advantage of the internet, u can write some articles, and do some surveys ...

At what age did you realize what you wanted to do in life?

-Starting university soon and picked a course that I thought I wanted to do, but I change my mind so much, I just wondered around what age people actually decided what they definitely wanted to do in life in terms of earning a living/jobs?I've switched my career choices so many times as child, and most of the time they weren't even related fields. I've wanted to be an architect, vet, nuclear engineer, electrician, neurosurgeon, computer engineer. When I was 17 (last year) I finally decided to go with agronomy, and I'm starting college for it soon. The big thing is not to focus too much on how much money you'll make in that field. Although you should definitely check into how difficult it is to find a job with whatever you go for, you shouldn't think that having a highly in-demand degree and making a lot of money is more important than how much you like your job. It isn't. Remember, you will be doing this for many years, for many hours each day. If you aren't interested in your career, no amount of money is going to make up for the excruciating boredom you'd feel everyday. As long as you can live decently, you will be extremely satisfied for your whole life if you do what you love. I hate to use a cliche, but if you do what you love, you'll never work a day in your life.23, when I stumbled into my career by chance.

Most people either don't know or change their minds even after they've already headed off to university. I really do wonder if those who have answered before even becoming a teen if they have already started their careers, or they're just teens or in university still working towards what they think they wanted to do. We recently had a bring your child to work day - my coworker brought in his son. He made a point of asking everyone what they thought they wanted to do when they went off to university - only one out of the 12 people he asked on our team knew what they wanted to do and stuck with it to this day. The rest of us had vague ideas and followed through, or completely changed our minds.

Find something that you enjoy that is an employable field and see where it takes you.
Those that are truly successful in life know exactly what they want to be in the early years or high school, or even middle school.

Careful with what you choose.

Some things are extremely fun to take - unfortunately those are the ones with very little demand, or even no demand, and very low pay.

Google: Degrees most in demand for the next decade.

Make sure you'll get a job when you get out.

The unemployment numbers are not telling the true story.

Unemployment could be as high as 19%. Worse for those that take fun degrees in the arts
Some people know what they want to do from childhood. Others have to think really hard about it. And a lot of people change their majors in college. It all just depends on the person. I figured out what I wanna do when I was 16. As of now im still pretty committed
I think it was around 15-ish. But that's a big 'ish' there. Don't think of it in terms of age, so long as you've got some kind of ambition, it doesn't matter when you make your mind up, or what that ambition is :)
At 8
At 9 years old i realized

How to prepare myself for my first job interview?

-I just turned 16 and now I can finally get a job. I'm going to have an interview at Areopostale, any advise??

Follow up on interview?

-Friday I had an interview that went alright from my end lol. The guy told me he has a couple more interviews. So this upcoming Friday I was thinking I'd send a follow up email thanking the HM for allowing me to meet with her staff member, her having questions, ect. Is that okay or should I call? And should I send it earlier that 7 days after my interview?? I want her to kinda keep my name in mind.It is better if you call but an email can be okay. I think you should call maybe 5 days after your interviewI have always followed up on all my interviews, and in my experience,if they want to offer you the job...they call!!! They have your application, they have your number and after all the interviews their mind is made up already. Following up has done me no good whatsoever and in some cases people were just plain rude about it. Just being honest.
You can try to access the following website, maybe you can find answer .Good luck to you!

No call for job offer.?

-Okay, So here is the deal. I turned in an application for Quaker Steak and Lube and was told to come back for an interview in a week. I went to the interview, talked to the Manager I assume (The Lady I gave my app to told me he would be there) and we just chatted for about 5 minutes, I told him what I want to do and he said the hostess posistion was filled but maybe I could try waitressing... I said That would work and then he told me the training days and said I would be hearing from him. Training now starts tomorrow and no call.. What does this mean? I have already called once and it was sent to a voice mail.If anything like my experience with Wal-Mart then one of two things can happen...

1. They call you after the mentioned training and sign you up for a later date (week or so after). Usually paperwork/etc can cause the delay.

2. They don't want you.

----

Based on the additional detail you have stated, I would like to think that its the first option I posted rather then the second. An influx of 160+/- jobs in a relatively quick time period could cause delay (the business probably is hiring as quick as it can because delay costs them... I would think that they could just be swarmed momentarily).Read the job requirements. If the job requirements are unrealistic, that employer is really bad or they don't have good HR.

I noticed the rise of college grads who were mommy-pampered who get jobs because they were just darn lucky. These barbie dolls I am referring to may even work in human resources and they are most likely to recruit the brainless socialites because they will fit in.

Is wearing a name tag good when job hunting?

-I know when your looking for a job you gotta stand out in a positive way. So is wearing a name tag too much? I want the places to notice me. Also is laminating my resume too much too? Please respond and thank youI would say no to both...If I was to interview someone with a name tag I would be thinking that either you came from a advent that required it and was to forgetful to take to take it off. Or you had special needs. Laminating a resume isn't impressive either. But you can try having a colored border on it to make it stand out. The best thing you can do to impress is dress up no mater what the job..make eye contact..use the interviewers name in the conversation and smile.

Good luck

Who would you choose for the job?

-I'm part of a panel interveiwing some applicants tomorrow. Im early 20's have the biggest say in who gets the job as i'll be working with them and have 2 applicants i am particularly interested in.

Applicant 1 - young - similar age, fresh talent but maybe a little raw, dynamic, will need training from the ground up, male

Applicant 2 - older, safe, well versed in the role, will transition nicely and ensure steady progress as i have worked with this person on many projects, female

I have my loyalties to app2, and know "our team" would progress nicely. I dont see any amazing work, but i see good progression of good work. This applicant is very safe, very nice and will get along easily with others

App1 i see potential for growth with the possiblility of things going either to the gutter or skyrocketing to something great. This applicant is a risk for disaster or greatness, and may breathe a breath of fresh air into a national group that needs it.

Any thoughts? who would you choose?Applicant 1 -

My first job interview?

-Hi people

I am 16 years old, a male, and I'm going to be applying for my first job at a grocery store sometime this week, and I am going to be very nervous when I'm being interviewed by them becuase I am somewhat of a shy person when it comes to these types of things..

So I'm wondering, what questions will they ask me during the interview?

What are some good basic answers to these questions?

Do you have any tips for me?

ThanksTHe most important rule is, "be yourself" but..."Be the best self you can be"

That is, wear your best clothes, be on your best behaviour....but don't try and be someone that you are not.

For this type of job it is not likely to be too formal.

They might ask you to "Describe yourself". Now apply our rule, find the best things about yourself, and find the ones that match the job. "I am a hard working person, I am quiet, but I like to help people."

They might also ask "Why do you want to work here". There are lots of good answers to this, you create and answer that combines several.

"I would like to learn more about customer service and retail."

"This job is close to my school/home" (these means you are not likely to be late, or quit your job)

"I am a concientious person, who likes to help people. I think I would suite this job"

They might also ask about your future...remember, tie it into the job.

"I would like to be a manager, I think. Retail management is a good option, so I would like to learn as much as I can about retail"

Relax, have fun, don't worry too much.easy! u just need to prove u r patient and sincere and enthusiastic. smiling to them first. they ten to ask u to briefly introduce yourself, then ask what your interest is, similarly experience, why do apply for the job, what benefits u can bring

i was a freshman last year. i dont really know much about ur high school, but can tell you that my freshman year at my high school was sooo much fun. i mean parties all the time, and lots of girls ( idk if ur a girl or not). you usually get an increased workload when it comes to homework, but otherwise its fun. it really wasnt scary like many ppl though it would be. hope you have fun.
Alot of stuff will probably be going on.

remember to think for yourself.

try to enjoy it but keep up with your schoolwork.

Keep in mind Lots of people regret not working hard enough in school.

Remember to be yourself. Is easy for any students to fall under the influence of someone else. Make sure u stay true to urself and don't pretend to be someone else
just be yourself and find a group of people with similar interests.

What is the best way to work online and find a good online job?

-I am interested in online jobs as they are very flexible to set time. So if you have any good experience with a real one please help me. I don't want some jobs with hard working like reading emails or answering call phones. It's a general question and there are many type of it. Six months before, i tried to make money online by answering questions, these type of programs don't work so much for you as a salary is not enough and around $4 per hour. But now I use online advertising programs and their income are much better. A good example for such programs is googleadvertise.com and probably they are the best because they also provide many ad senders. The easiest and best way to earn online is to get a website with a good idea, attract the people to your website. Put some advt on it from google adsense or adbrite.

The other way is to sell products on ebay

Thank you all so much for your help in advance because I definitely appreciate all of your answers! My daughter worked there for a very short time as one of her coworkers sprayed Windex in her eyes! Why? Because he was MADE to do his job in the deli and took it out on her. She had nothing to do with it. Was he fired? Nope. Their boss was to chicken s--t to say anything in fear of losing his. For a whole $6.10 an hour! Low pay and typical corporate slavery.
If it is anything like Wal-Mart then I am sure it sucks. My own personal experience stopped with the application process twice.

1. Kiss up and say you are available whenever (the key for them is availability.. once you are in the door then you can mess with them about your sched.).

Volunteering Opportunities?

-Hey guys. I'm a 16 year old girl who really wants to volunteer or help out the community in some way. This is easier said than done though. I love helping people, and I have some free time, and I really want to help people that need it. There is a "big sister" program in my town where you get paired with a youth, but you must be 18. I would really like to help out underpriveleged people or kids in some way, because I know I am very fourtunate to have nice things and stuff and I want to give back, but I don't really know how. Like I don't really hear of any volunteering opportunites, and I don't know how to find them. Do you volunteer anywhere or have any suggestions for how I can get involved and help people? Any ideas? Thanks!Being a volunteer says great things about you! You get to help your community, explore career options, and build relationships with people that can give you references and recommendations in the future! Just ask about volunteering opportunities at non-profit organizations, hospitals, schools, libraries, nursing homes, etc around you. Am sure many places would love to have a volunteer like you! Good luck!

Im 15 and in need for a job?

-i live in chicago

i want to save up for something, but i need a job.

i was thinking subway or ihop, something like that.

can someone please tell me if i can get into one of those jobs, and do you have any suggestions? Most places usually start hiring at 16.. but the places you mentioned..probably 18. Do you have like an icecream place around (if ur interested ofcourse..lol) ..

look on google and search for jobs hiring around your area. most places have online applications now. but expect the lowest wage since you don't have expierience yet.Avoid fast food places, i heard there the most depressing jobs ever. my first job was mowing lawns, i got 25 bucks each time.

Take a job thats two hours away from home or wait for a job close to home?

-I have a job interview for a job as a Coordinator of Computer Testing. Tthe interview is at a college and the college is two hours away driving from home and two hours in the car returning home. It is a full time job making $14.00 an hour is it wise to take a job thats a two hours drive to a job paying 14 an hour? The interview is tomorrow. It wouldn't pay for gas. Perhaps if you're planning on moving or crashing on a friend/family's couch for the weekdays, it might be worth taking if there is possibility for other opportunities. Personally I hate traffic enough that a two hour drive isn't worth it to me. Go to the interview. Make a list of pros and cons to the job vs your commute. Good luck with your decision.
No...... and computer degree you could get paid better my dad gets paid $15 for working in a warehouse moving food and stuff here and there (no degree)...... go to the city or wherever the population is biggest

Can you get unemployment if you quit your job?

-My boss at new place where i been working is always saying **** to me and said i new im learning he an asshole. He even said maybe you don't want to be here anymore so if i quit can i get unemployment?

I just can't take it anymore? In some cases you can get unemployment if you quit your job. But in this situation you'll need to do a little more than just get fed up.

I would have a talk with you supervisor. Tell them that you don't like the way your being treated. I would also advise that you have somebody else there to witness this conversation. After that I would give it time. If he doesn't change, then I would talk to his boss. If that doesn't get you anywhere then yes, I would quit and file.

It is a batte to get unemplyment either way. But don't torture yourself. But don't think that you'll be guaranteed to get it either.
There are some circumstances where you can, but "my boss is an a$$hole and I can't take it any more" would not qualify.
No you cannot get unemployment if you quit your job. Quitting, resigning, or abandoning a job all involve a voluntary decision to stop working and receiving a paycheck. You are not laid off through no fault of your own when you quit a job. If you submit a claim to unemployment, your former manager will be contacted to find out why you no longer work there. When your boss lets the state know that you quit, it becomes clear that you are unemployed by personal choice, and your claim for benefits will be denied. Also the fact that you are new at this job means that you have not worked long enough to qualify for unemployment benefits even if you are laid off.
No. Quit=no unemployment.
No, you can't. You don't get UE for being voluntarily unemployed.

ThanksFirst of all I want to share some things that I've learned in interviews that I've had ( I'm 18). When you go on an interview, remember that its an interview and not an interrogation :) they want you to talk too! Bring a list of questions to ask because they WILL ask you if you have any questions. Ask about their company and what you can expect from a normal day at work. They're going to ask you questions like: are you a good leader? What make you want to work here? Why should we hire you? What are one of your best qualities? And more questions about what kind of worker you'll be. When answering their questions, make your answers are relevant to how your skills will benefit their company; that's all they really want, to know why you're the right person for the job. Its okay to be nervous, but try to express how excited you are about this job opportunity. Show them that you prepared for this interview by being organized. Good luck on your interview! You'll do awesome! :)Well since you are 16 they wont be asking if you have any work experience. Unless you do of course but that would be on your application and they'll have that with them during the interview. More than likely the interviewer will be telling you about the job, the duties and what it requires. They wont be asking anything out of the ordinary except maybe how you do you get along with others or what your personality is like. The questions asked may also included prior work duties and how you handled certain aspects of your last job or how or what you'd do with a certain task at this job.

If you can, research all you can about the job you will be applying for and ask short brief questions about the job during the interview. This will show them that you are interested and not just some high school kid who is going to quit without a reason.

Good luck.
you can find it in tools on this website all-info.org/ans.php?ques=2AAT7H9

Flexibility of a nursing job?

-during high school I've enjoyed all my science classes i am a senior and i was planning on finishing my basics then majoring in musical theater. I recently overheard my parents talking and it looks like they are barely able to pay the bills with very little money left and my dad might have to retire early because he is a pilot and has high blood pressure and psoriasic arthritis and he was asking my mom to study into a new field. So it looks like to go to school i will have to be paying for it myself. So I'm thinking of getting an associates in nursing so ill be able to start working right away but i was wondering if i would keep being able to go to school studying musical theater. I just need to have means to support myself to go to school. Any help is greatly appreciated I'm really nervous now i don't want to give up my hobbies but it looks like i might have to.As a RN you would be able to work as a staff nurse in a hospital setting for 3 12 hours shifts a week & be considered full time. You can also probably find a position as a weekend nurse; ie Fri, Sat & Sun every week leaving you Mon-Thur to pursue your musical theater degree.

And as far as Associate's vs BSN it really isn't that different & isn't hard to find a job as an Associate's degree RN, what really matters is that you pass boards & have a license. For my pay & years experience as a Associate's degree RN vs my husband's pay & years of experience as a BSN RN it's comparably the same. He didn't even receive a raise when he graduated the BSN program because he was already topped out for his position. For the debt you will incur in 2 years and the face that you aren't planning on making a career out of nursing you will be fine with an Associate's degree.yes
depends on the standard u set for yourself
An Associates degree isn't incredibly in demand right now in most areas. I strongly recommend that you take some time to look through classified ads to see what people are hiring; I can guarantee that most want BSN or better.

If you work in a clinic setting, then your hours will be typically business hours. However, you will NOT be able to disappear for 3 hours to run to an audition.

Basically, it sounds like you are looking for a nursing job for someone with minimal education and who only wants to work part time. You never know - you may be able to find it. Check things out in the classified ads to see if it's even feasible. If not, then start applying for scholarships, grants, and financial aid.

What are the pros and cons of having a switchboard job?

-Just considering a position where this is an aspect of what I do....never worked a switchboard before - was just wondering if its fun - a bore - ??If you like working in a fast-paced environment and like being on the phone constantly then it's the perfect job for you, but if you are not one of those type of people then it wouldn't be a good job for you.

Do companies care where you went to school as long as you have your CPA?

-I am currently in the Military and I need to start working on my Master's soon. I received my undergraduate degree in Geography but I am thinking about getting my Master's in Accounting. The school must offer online classes but must be legitimate at the same time. AMU is my top pick so far but it is a for-profit school that does not have stringent entry requirements. As long as I have my CPA, does it matter to employers where I got my degree from? Most on line schools are looked at with skepticism because in the past there were so many Diploma Mills cranking out Diplomas for a fee. No real work study required. When the choice is between an applicant with an on line school degree and an applicant with a regular college degree, the college wins every time.

What is a "Civil Emergency Message"?

-I have u-verse where you can dismiss the alert and it said Civil Emergency Message and my dad dismissed it. I don't know what it's about right now but I live in Dearborn, MI. What does this mean?I am not sure but they are probably to warn the city and my state in the event of an actual emergency.
I don't have an answer but I'm so glad someone else asked. I live in Westland and it keeps going off on my tv too. I'm hoping it's just a fluke because nothings on the news

My first job question is this a gud pay or no?

-I'm working for a dry cleaning place and I work from 7-8 and I get paid 20 bucks a day I have to work the front plus steam iron and press n pagage clothing plus data entry he's training me. my mom says this is not a good job. Is this a gud job paying job worth with all the work?20 dollars a day isn't good money. I'd try to find another job. But stay with that until someone else hires you. Little money is better than no money. No, it's not good money, but you are learning skills and have a job.

So, start looking for another job. You can say you are working and say what you have learnt. It's always easier to get another job if you already have one. Employers like good, hard workers.
u definitely didn't receive a "gud" education
your getting pay 2.25 bucks an hour, **** that....

Pastry chef in new york?

-Hi everyone, I need an advice, I'm italian, I'm looking for a job in a patisserie, does anyone know how can I get to this chance??? thanksssthere are alot... check yelp.com and search bakeries..

I applied to 15 jobs what are the chances i at least get one?

-i applied to 15 jobs what are the chances i at least get one ....im 16 about to turn 17 and i have a workers permitThe mathematical chance is one in 15, of course, but it really doesn't work that way. It all depends on how good the employers think you would be, and how many other people applied. So you could get 15 job offers, or none, or anything in between. You do have to think about this, the economy is bad, and many people have been cut from their jobs, people who much more experience than you in the jobs because they were cut from their job, and looking for the same jobs as you.

Since it is your first time, and you're a teen, it will be pretty hard, however, 15 jobs is quite a lot, and I do think you have a shot. Only time will tell! Good luck!
it is hard to do the survey. depend on what jobs u r applying and the qualifications u have.

but at least u can get one out of 15. cheer up, buddy!
I don't know. But I can tell you the job market is the worst it has ever been.

THE FLIP FLOP SHOP. how much do they pay employees? I'm applying for this job.?

-how much is pay per hour?

Is it true that Wet Seal interviews everyone that applies for a job?

-Just wondering because am applying there tomorrow and I was considering whether or not to bring my cover letter and resume along with my application. Thanks! No, I'm sorry that is not true, I have applied at Wet Seal before gave my application to the hiring manager introduced myself and never got a call or even an interview. But I would have to agree bring everything just to be safe you may get lucky! Good Luck =]I highly doubt that is true. They most likely get a lot of applications and it would be bonkers of them to interview everyone when they could save a lot of time and only pick out the most qualified candidates.
I would bring everything you can I always say for interviews its better to be safe than sorry.

What are good jobs for 16 year olds?

-I've put in so many applications and I don't know where else to apply! I've applied at Kroger, Culver's, Hobby Lobby, Zumiez, Old Navy, Logan's Roadhouse, and Great Escape Movie Theater. Where else could I apply? Here are some job ideas for 16-year-olds

Anything an adult can do except where indicated in the specific positions. Some limitations can be selling alcohol and driving.

Anything but working in a liquor store.

Fast food restaurant, car washes, actually you can work at any place that will hire them. Bus person in a restaurant, washing dishes in restaurant, cleaning, mail room person in large business, porters in hotels, caddy at golf course.

Store clerk (retail clothing shop, hobby shop, drug store, etc.)

Farm hand

Receptionist or administrative assistant

Movie theater attendant

Babysitting, helping a small business owner, sales, customer service, technical support.

any fast food places hire at the age of sixteen and some department stores

Common occupations for 16-year-olds: cashiers and cooks

Among youths aged 16 in the 1999-2000 school year, 68 percent held an employee job defined as an ongoing relationship with a particular employer at some point during the school year. Cashier was the most common occupation among 16-year-old females with employee jobs; cook was the most common job for males.

Cashiers accounted for 20 percent of the female youths with employee jobs. The next most common occupation for 16-year-old females was food counter, fountain, and related occupations, at 14 percent.

Of the young males with employee jobs, 14 percent worked as cooks. The next most common job for 16-year-old males was stock handlers and baggers

Data on the employment experience and other characteristics of youths are a product of the National Longitudinal Surveys program. Note that jobs such as babysitting or yard work done on an as-needed basis or for multiple employers are considered to be freelance jobs rather than employee jobs. Additional information is available from "Employment Experience of Youths during the School Year and Summer," news release USDL 03-4

Check out your local Parks and Recreation Departments. Some have fun Summer Jobs. Some Cities also have Work Experience Programs to train and help you get your first job.

Schlitterbahn Waterparks of New Braunfels, Tx 78130 for less than $5.15 per hour Minimum Wage www.schlitterbahn.com "A minimum wage of $4.25 per hour applies to young workers under the age of 20 during their first 90 consecutive calendar days of employment with an employer, as long as their work does not displace other workers. After 90 consecutive days of employment or the employee reaches 20 years of age, whichever comes first, the employee must receive a minimum wage of $5.15 per hour." --> copied from http://www.dol.gov/esa/minwage/q-a.htm#young

Try http://www.teens4hire.org/

First, apply to everywhere you can. your chances go up significantly the more places you apply. Then, About 3 days to 1 week afterwords, go back in and see if the employer has seen your application. I cannot overstress the importance of this because employers want to hire ambitious people. If you do this, at most establishments that hire 16 year old, you should either get something along the lines of we're not hiring, or that they want to set up an interview. As you are interviewed, do not say anything that could get you in trouble, and allow them to have you take a drug test. If you do everything and say what they want to here, your home free. Good Luck!

Probably nowhere. Federal labor laws set limits on how many hours a week minors can work, and what times during the day. The restrictions are set up so that teens aren't scheduled during school hours or late evening shifts.

Also, unless you have been working at one thing your entire life, you don't have enough experience for much more than minimum wage positions. Sorry about that.

You should go to the library and look at the book Jobs for Kids or 100 Jobs for Kids & Young Adults for some ideas.

Read more: http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Where_can_a_16-year-old_find_a_job#ixzz1T6AgP8un
Fast food places such as McDonalds, Dominos and Subway usually hire young staff about that age. I started at Subway when I was 17 and was given my own key to the store a year and a half later. If you work well, you can usually climb to higher roles such as manager or shift runner which are higher paying and looks good on your resume. This will then help you get a job you might prefer later on.

I worked at a flower farm from 14-16, which involved trimming and bunching flowers for export. Perhaps try applying for work at a farm or factory. They are often short of hands, are usually flexible with hours and employ a lot of young people. I met my boyfriend at the flower farm, and made many other friends.

Good luck!

Is it appropriate to send a follow up email after an in person job interview?

-Should I send one? What should it say? I was thinking something along the lines of thanks again for the opportunity and if you have any more questions in regards to my qualifications I'd be happy to answer them. What do you think?Yes it is a good idea and is actually a positive thing. I read a lot today about doing them because I wasn't sure. I will do one 99% of the time unless I am not interested in the job or I know I blew the interview badly.

You can say what you said and maybe say something about the position. For ex "It sounds like both an interesting and challenging position which I feel I would be qualified for..." something like that. If they told you about the company mention something about it that you like without sounding like you are sucking up too much. :)

You can google combinations of "follow up email for interview" or some sort of wording like that and find examples and ideas.

Good luckMaybe whip off an email immediately after the interview and follow it up with a snail mail note reiterating your skills, etc. I'm still in the stone age, I know, but a note on paper is probably unusual these days, and might make you stand out.
it would be much better if u send a follow up email. the HR tend to think that u enthusiastic about the job. when he chose the best candidate, u have a higher chance since u have leaved an impressive image on him.
can't hurt.

What major should I choose if my career choice is Pediatric Oncology?

-I don't know if I'm supposed to go pre-med route or major in biology or chemistry, any help?Pre-med route is traditionally Biology or Chemisty. There is no B.S. in Pre-med. Just make sure whatever you major in prepares you for the MCAT!

Simpson.....Do you think they'd hire me over at Longaberger if I got a degree in "Underwater Basketweaving"? :)

Questions about becoming a paramedic?

-Alright gonna be a senior this year. Wanting to become a paramedic, and have been reading and hearing a lot of information. So this is the basic gist of it, right?

1. Get CPR license (need it to be able to do emt-b

2. Pass an EMT-Basics class.

3. Pass an EMT-Intermediate class.

4. Pass an EMT-Paramedics class.

And then I can apply as a Paramedic?

Would it also be helpful to get experience in an ambulance while going to these classes? My dads a pastor of a church and there's a guy that is a paramedic in the church and he said I could come on some runs for experience.Yes, generally, you've got it. CPR will take you a couple of hours.

The EMT Basic class will take two to three months. These are often offered by local ambulance services as well as your local college.

Intermediate is often incorporated in to the paramedic program, not all paramedics were intermediates. The paramedic class could be up to two years with clinical time.

Experience is a massive benefit. As soon as you have you EMT-B you should get out and volunteer with your local service as much as possible. Seeing a paramedic use their skills in real life will help with your learning and be invaluable when you come to apply for a job. Most paramedic students are working as an EMT-B when they take their class.
Yes, although it does depend on the state--not all require the EMT B & I steps. In CA, Paramedic is a one year training program (at, say, the Paramedic institute in Daniel Freeman) and we do not have the intermediate EMT. If some one lets you do some runs, that is great but under NO circumstances do anything or touch a patient (even if they tell you to)--you will have some hefty legal problems if you do. Only observe.
Diane, in CA only 1090 hours of training is required to be a Paramedic after a 3 week boot camp for EMT. The 1090 hours can easily be done in about 7 months in the votechs which have no A&P requirements. Daniel Freeman is 9 months. California did have an EMT II which was the equivalent of the EMT-I but has been replaced by the EMT-A.

RNs and PAs can also challenge the Paramedic after a few prequisites are met.

But Zach is apparently in Kentucky and the links have been posted by jojo.

Zach you'll be okay as an observer as long as the company has a policy and you understand the wavier you'll probably have to sign.

Managerial Accounting Help?

-Vintech Company is planning to produce 2,400 units of product in 2011. Each unit requires 3 pounds of materials at $7 per pound and a half hour of labor at $13 per hour. The overhead rate is 70% of direct labor. Compute the budgeted amounts for 2011 for direct materials to be used, direct labor, and applied overhead.

Is it safe to look for a job n the internet?

-is it safe to put my social security number???The US Dept. of Commerce did research and found that only 1 in 57 job offers on the internet was legitimate. The rest were scams. So if you apply for a job over the internet, be extremely careful. Once your personal information is given away, you never know who will use it to apply for credit cards and the such in your name.
As long as the employer is an established employer and not one of these online "jobs".
sure why not?

I really need a well paying job! Now!?

-I am 13 years old and in desperate need of a job that can pay pretty well. this is not so that i can have a larger amount of pocket cash! is there anywhere around the Unionville Markham area where i can find one? PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!you can work as a cashier

I really want this job, but I'm nervous for the interview?

-I have an interview for a business coordinator. It can make me or break me, due to the fact it is towards my degree. I feel like I will say something wrong, because I always get nervous and dont talk enough. I think about something to say and I feel like I dont want to drag it out too much. I'm 24yrs old and I feel like I shouldn't have this problem.

Will this work for me in getting a better paying job?

-Can I get a job that pays more than minimal wage, if I go take classes for any sort of a permit/certificate?

Overnight worker at Target -dress code?

-Do overnight workers have to wear a red shirt and khaki pants also?it might be safe to follow the routine.

Can I make a career out of this?

-I have a knack for technical and analytic writing. I can use flowery and deep words to make a seemingly mundane and boring topic seem interesting and thought-provoking. I can lengthen a usually static and straight-to-the-point material and play with the thoughts surrounding it. A class report which could finished in only 1 page could easily be stretched out to 2-4 pages if I were to write it.

That's the only special talent I have. Is there any way I can use that to my advantage, career-wise? What kind of jobs can I apply into?

No references! What should I do?

-I had a job as a CNA like a couple months ago , this is my first job ever, and I worked for them for 6 months exactly. Started in september of 2010 and ended feb of this yr. My problem is I sorta burned bridges with them.. (Yes I know this sounds bad.) because I was going through a tough time, sort of in depression mode and I just couldnt handle going to work and handling with my personal issues at the same time. So.. little by little I stopped taking less assignments that was assigned to me and one day I just completely fell out and I got laid off. Now, im job searching hoping to find a new job but I have no references.. Like none at all! I know that my past employers wont give me a good recommendation since I burned bridges with them. The school I went to, to be a cna, I had an RN as an instructor and I remember her giving me her contact info but I lost that also.. Basically I cant think of any references I can put down. Any advice? Im now 19 as well.

23/07/2011Why would it be a scam

?????
100% SCAM for so many reasons

1 - NOT ONE of those jobs qualifies for sponsorship to the UK. Those are unskilled jobs that have to be offered to EU citizens. No foreign worker can come to the UK for one of those jobs

2 - It's against the law for any employer in the UK to charge the employee ANY fees and there are no processing fees for visas. The employer has to cover ALL fees as a condition of their sponsorship

3 - To work as a nanny/au pair in the UK you must have a valid CRB. It's against the law for anyone to offer a nanny/au pair job to anyone who does not have a CRB. A CRB is a criminal background check that requires you to appear iN PERSON at a UK police staiton with your passport to be fingerprinted and photographed. If you do not have a CRB you cannot work with children in any capacity

4 - To work as a driver in the UK you need a UK driving license. You cannot be offered any driving job without this. If you did not take the written and driving test in the UK then you cannot get a driver job

5 - there is NO way any employer can offer work to anyone without proof they have met you IN PERSON. If you were not flown to the UK for an interview before you got the job offer, it's ALWAYS a SCAM. There are NO exceptions

6 - This is NOT written by a native UK English speaker - there are so many grammatical errors

If you really believe you can get hired for overseas jobs over the internet you need to get off the computer because you are too gullible and will be scammed. There is NO employer anywhere in the world that employs people who have not had at least one face to face interview
if your job is not verify from an agency then I would be very careful of accepting that job, since you can be sue by signing the agreement if things doesn't turn out to be the employers' expectation wheather the accused which is you are under valid or made up reasons.

For example, you sign the form and work there for 1 week then suddenly you got fired for some reason and then they can sue you because you broke contract and they make alot of momney from suing you.

it can be also a trap where you walk in and they drug you and sell you off to a prostitution ring.

Missed a day of work by accident!?

-Hey last time I checked my schedule at Wendy's it said I had today off, but I forgot I looked at last weeks schedule instead of this weeks! So i missed today and I just checked my phone and it had a message from my manager telling me I had to work today!!! I am so worried, what should I tell them tomorrow please help!!!!I agree with the above poster. It's almost happened to me. I thought I was working a night, but my boss had changed it to 8 a.m. and at 8:05 he was calling me saying "You know you have to work today? Now?" I just apologized, said I thought I was on the same schedule as last week, and said I would always carefully read the schedule. I wasn't even written up. You *might* be, but it takes 2 or 3 write-ups to get fired usually. Just work your behind off so they know you're a valued employee.

Life as a general surgeon?

-What do you do day to day as a general surgeon. What are the hours. Also, what's the salary

Please and thank youSo an average non-call day could be getting to the hospital at 6am or so to round on any in-house patients. The more in-house patients you have, the earlier you have to get there. You will then do dressing changes, discharge those who are ready, examine post-op wounds, and change medication/care orders.

Then, you get to clinic, usually by 8am or 9am. You usually see patients until 4:30 or 5pm. If you haven't dictated all your charts, then you dictate. If you have any emergent cases, then you head over to the OR or Surg center and do surgery on those patients.

Depending on how your group works, on days where you are first call, your day may start out with the rounding and you may then have the rest of the day off, but you are on call. So, anyone comes into the ED who needs surgery or a consult, and you go in. So, no alcohol and you typically have to stay within 20 minutes of the hospital. So sure, you can spend your day on the Golf Course or at Disneyland, but if you get a page about an appendix that's ready to go, then you have to drop everything and get to the OR immediately.

Salary varies by how much time you put in, your overhead, and your reimbursement. It could be $150k/year, it could be $600k/year.

What jobs hire 15 & 16 year old ?

-Why not consider picking up dog droppings as a part of your own business? You can earn upwards of $20 an hour, and all you need are a few tools a bicycle, and perhaps a bicycle trailer. This article talks about it and how a woman in Colorado quit her management job to do it.

I really need a job, I've tried everything, HELP ME PLEASE!!!!?

-I'm an 18 year old female and I graduated from high school in June. I really need a job to save some money before i leave for college. I've applied at about twenty different places within 10-15 miles of my house and I've only got one call! I dont know what I'm doing wrong but im so frustrated! I have no criminal record and have never done drugs or been in trouble or anything. The only work experience I have is as a nanny for a few months and a little bit of volunteer experience.

Please help me! thank you so much!Stop applying, I realized it myself too. I applied like 20+ jobs and got like an email or so but nothing much really. I asked myself, whats wrong? My resume and cover letter thats what. Its not good enough, its not precise and hitting the job description well enough.

Take a break, a day or two and fix up your cover letter and resume. Don't just follow templates, extract info from templates and make your own. Do not post on Yahoo Answers for review because no one here is willing to help with that much detail. I tried it and they ignored me. Just google some CV, resume or cover letter forum and post it and ask for a review.
Keep Applying Don''t Give up! APPLY EVERYWHERE AND ANYWHERE, if you want it bad enough it will come true. Think positive, and go into interviews like you already have the job, confident, and sure of yourself, but not too cocky.
be calm down! sometimes it is not your mistake just because of the wrong time. u need to sit down to make a list to write down your advantages and disadvantages. when u apply for the job, u can make a choice accordingly.
-cough cough cough- whore yourselfff -cough cough cough cough- whoa who said that??

White collar family and going to collage but interested in a manual labor (blue collar) job?

-Everybody in my family has an office and job and has at least a masters degree and the expect the same from me. I'm in collage studying psychology at the moment and plan on going for a PHD. Occasionally the thought of getting a blue collar job has popped into my head. Can anybody tell me the pay difference between me going for my phd or if I were to drop out and go to trade school. Also please give me a short run down on your job, if it's blue or white and how much you like it. Thanks.you are waaaaaaay better off by sticking with what your doing.i've struggled most of my life at blue collar jobs, believe me they get old quick! the pay is usually horrible, its a mental challenge everyday going into work at some sh**hole place everyday and knowing that thats what you look foward to doing 40+ hours a week! its very depressing, thats why most people who work those jobs are alcoholics or druggies, because its wery hard to get up every morning and mentally do it for 30 years until you retire.First off,you didn't spell college correctly-so I doubt you are in college. Getting a PhD means 4 years as an undergradute-then 2 years in a Master's program. Then an ADDITIONAL 2 years to get a PhD.That's 8 years in college. Many people with Phd's can't even get a job in their chosen field. It doesn't matter what your family's education history is. The important thing is that you find something you want to do and enjoy doing and go for that. If that means being a doctor, then go for it. If that means being a car mechanic with no college-then go for that. You've only got one life to live. Do what will make you happiest and not what your family wants you to do. When they see you're happy doing something you enjoy they will understand and be happy for you. Follow your own heart and not anyone else's. Good luck

Is a career as financial planner right for me?

-Is a career as a financial planner right for me?

Hello,

I'm 23 and I have a BA in Psychology. After spending a couple of months working at a locked psychiatric unit and I've decided that a career in psychology isn't right for me.

I'm now looking at a career in financial advising, and in business in general. I believe that I'll enjoy a career in this field because I genuinely like working with people and helping them. In addition, I believe I have what it takes to be successful.

However, my big question is how much is prior knowledge in business/finance necessary? And a lot of the insurance companies that I'm looking at provide training but are 100% commission. Which bring me to the next question. I've heard that having a book of business or knowing a lot of people is helpful in order to hit the ground running. I barely know my family and don't have a big group of friends plus they're my age which means they probably won't think about financial planning anytime soon.

I believe that I have the skills, motivation, ambition, and the tenacity to do this. However, how long will it be until I can make a living out of this given my circumstances.

CategoryIf you really looking to make your career as a financial planner then go ahead. You can do better if you are interested in this field.

Careers in animal therapy?

-I am going to be a senior in high school this coming year, so I need to start making plans for college. I would really love to work with animals, and have been considering training or working with service or therapy animals such as guide dogs, assistance animals, or any animals involved in animal-assisted therapy. The main reason I am interested in these is that I love animals, of all sorts, and working with them is what makes me truly happy, especially since I do not deal well with large groups of people, however working one-on-one with one person and an animal would be much easier. Just the idea of training animals to help people with either physical or mental handicaps to live a normal life is something that I would find very rewarding. I also have an interest in psychology, but would not like to be a therapist.

What would be some courses or majors for me in college for careers with either of these? I was thinking psychology and animal behavior would be best, but I have been having difficulty finding resources for this, so anything you have would be a great help. Thank you in advance.

What careers in business will not lead me to sitting behind a desk all day?

-I'm going to be a sophomore in college and I am still undecided about my major. I know I want to work in a business related field (Information Systems, finance, accounting, economics, etc) or information analysis/business intelligence field. Although, many of these majors lead to careers where I would be stuck behind a desk all day. I would not mind having to spend time in this position, but I would prefer moving about, interacting with people, traveling, or spending time anywhere else besides a desk. Could anyone give me insight as to what majors would lead me to a career where I would not be left behind a desk all day?Construction Management or Concrete Industry Management takes you out on jobsites a lot, and so does Civil Engineering. The job market for both isn't good right now because of the housing collapse, but it may get better later.

You could also get a degree in Information Systems and find a job selling corporate software solutions too, this would get you out into a lot of different environments as well.

At an interview, how do I find the person I'm interviewing with (Starbucks)?

-I have an interview at Starbucks tomorrow. This may be a stupid question, but how do I find the person I'm interviewing with? I haven't faced this problem at previous interviews. I know his name, but I don't know what he looks like or anything. Should I ask one of the employees where he is? Should I ask an employee to go get him for me? Should I try to find him myself?Go to the person at the counter and say something like, "Hello, my name is Bob, I have an interview with Jeff today, could you let him know I'm here?"I think you meant you are going to starbucks and the person interviewing you is going to starbucks (you aren't interviewing with starbucks).

What is the reason that you are not interviewing at the normal place of business?

A job where they are interviewing at starbucks SCREAMS scam to me.
with any job ask for a manager and tell that person u have ab interview and are suposed to be doing the interview with"". i work at starbucks.
yeah just go there and say your here for a interview

Am I eligible for getting OBC Non creamy layer certificate?

-I am Kaviyarasan, 27 years old, Diploma Holder. I belongs to OBC category. Right now I am working in one multinational company. I get 27000 rs/- per month (Yearly 3.24 lacs). I want to apply BHEL supervisor training. my father don't have any employment because he is aged, mother is a house wife. We don't have own land & any other income. For applying BHEL central government job, Am I eligible for getting OBC Non Creamy Layer Certificate? Where(which office that means thasiltar office or other office etc.,) Can I get this Certificate? What are the documents can I submit for getting this certificate? Is it easy to get certificate or too tough? Kindly guide me to get this certificate. Is it normal to get central government job, If this certificate is not provided?

What should I do? In need of advice?

-I've got this unfortunate problem. I'm a 20 year old male virgin (that's not the problem). Anyway, all my life I have sort of voluntarily refrained myself from sex, and even the company of the opposite sex. I'm not sure why. I just never really wanted anything to do with it. It's actually a rather complicated thing. I also have never dated. So over time I have grown accustomed to being a lone wolf and being very independent in my decision making. I've discovered a strong distaste that I have for marriage and intimate companionship in general. I think its really, for lack of a better term, stupid. The problem, however, is that now that I'm beginning to mature, it seems as though my body wants sex but in my mind I'm still very much against it. So I have three questions. 1. Is it difficult to refrain from sex in one's 20s? 2. Should I give in and find a woman? Or should I just continue how I've been doing (because that's what I want to do)? And 3. What steps could I take to rid myself of sexual desire?

Thanks to the serious responders.I am kind of like that. I date guys but am not committed.

First of all I really, really, REALLY don't think you should just all of a sudden start getting intimate with girls. You waited a long time to just give it up to some whore that has been having sex since she was 13. You don't want an STD.

If I was in your situation, I would first find myself a girlfriend. A girl who isn't shy, but doesn't rush things.

Are your parents divorced? This may be why you have a distaste to marriage.

Answers to your questions in short term:

#1: It may be difficult but defiantly possible.

#2: NO! NO! NO! A girl should deserve the honor of you waiting. Slowly start changing your lifestyle.

#3: Go to a gym, volunteer, watch movies, work, go shopping, etc.

I'm being written up a second time after being here less than two months...I don't know what to do (very long)?

-I wrote in the attendance book 1-2 weeks in advance that I would not be able to work this weekend. I was scheduled to work it anyway. So, I tried finding other people to work for me. I stressed about it for a week; one girl, Hannah, said she'd be able to work my short, 3hr shift today, Sunday(today). A newer girl, Sarah, said she would work my shift Saturday, if I took another of her shifts.

Sarah went in to work for me on Saturday. Great. I called the store twice to make sure she made it in but nobody picked up. So I drove in when I was able to. I also asked for Hannah's number so I could call and ensure she'd be going in on Sunday for me. The shift leader(who is probably trying to screw me over/get me fired) said that she was planning on going in for me. I said "you sure?" and she nodded. I asked if I needed to contact that shift leader and she said no, she got it. I was in a $250 prepaid class for my personal trainer certification this weekend(reason I knew I could not work). I got a call in the middle of it - the manager asking where I was. Apparently, I told Hannah I'd call the store if I needed her to go in...I'd never said that. And now, I'm being written up a second time. I wanted to cry and had a hard time paying attention to the lesson. I wanted to focus so I could pass that exam.

The manager also got on me for having Sarah take my shift because she was still new - it stresses other employees(though she started training when I finished... figured we were about the same). But I couldn't find anyone(!) else to take my shift. The one other person who was available wouldn't because it was his only day off that week. I havent had any vacations this summer. This was the weekend I needed off and I'll need another off in August (I marked that in the book several weeks back so I hope the manager pays attention to it) I'm only scheduled 16 hours a week (and so is the other new girl) And it seems the manager would rather just have someone else take over my shift than schedule me in during the week. I'm literally available all summer - no classes- and I'm working Fri/Sat/Monday nights and 3 odd hours in the middle of the day Sunday.

I stressed to make sure it'd work out. I even went in another morning when I knew the manager would be there so I could speak to her. I told her I was looking for someone to work for me Saturday and that Hannah had said she would work for me on Sunday.

The first time I was written up was less than a month in. I didn't know I was supposed to work. I had asked this shift leader days previously how I would know when to come in and asked if I was supposed to call in each time and she just said yea. She didn't tell me about/show me the schedule posted in the backroom.

I first met the manager a few weeks back (was interviewed and trained by the store's old manager) and worked with her about an hour on one weekend. Other than that, she does not know much about me other than this missing and being late a few times.

I feel like I'm being screwed over by this one shift leader. She was telling me a few weeks back that she and the manager didn't think I really wanted the job. I never know what she's thinking. She's manipulative I'm sure; she acts nice but other times...and she talks about all the ex boyfriends she's broken up with and made cry...if you can get an idea from that of what she's likesounds like she doesn't care one way or the other. you expect her to be interested in how well you perform at this job, but it sounds like you need to revise your thinking. whether or not you hold down this job is on you. just pretend everyone who has put in the sort of time and dedication to make it to a management position has been through hell in every aspect of their life and doesn't care about you, and then you'll have the right mindset to proceed.

next, remember that you don't have a lot in common with the managers, and it doesn't mean anything if they are nice to you, your social interaction could amount to a polite greeting now and then and be fine. no reason to ignore them, however if you've been ingratiating or talkative in the past then tone it down slowly to avoid unnecessary suspicion. this is just a summer job, and you don't matter to them, it isn't personal.
this sounds similar to what i was going through. I work at a retail store and i have been there over a year now. i keep getting written up for being late and i had no idea i was getting late write ups. I've gone through so much with this store. One manager is rude, another is crabby all the time and takes it out on me, and another is extremely sarcastic. I asked for a schedule that could work around my college classes and they got mad, so i have written my two weeks notice. I know it might be hard for you if you really need this job, I did to. but sometimes being unemployed for a little bit is better then being miserable. Of course though before I handed in my two weeks notice I have a couple interviews lined up..and they both look promising. Good Luck!

How long approximately until I get a call back in regards to a job?

-I applied for a job, waited a week, and called to check up on the application and to show my interest in the job. The manager I spoke to was very helpful and gave me a lot of information. He advised that I call in another week or so. I waited a week, called again as he had advised, and the man I spoke to that time informed me that the applications had been sent to the district manager's office and that they were planning on calling me for an interview. He wished me the best of luck and I hung up cheerfully. That was a Thursday. It has since been almost two weeks.

If anyone knows how long it should be taking to expect to hear back from them, that would be appreciated. Or likewise, does the lack of additional communication mean they've chosen to go with another candidate?

It's for a job in retail, if that is any addtional help.So did you not even get an interview?? I hate it when people hiring say oh we will call you by this certain day, or I'll definitely look at your app and consider you...when they don't. It's plain rude!

Call them tomorrow explaining that one of the guys you talked to said you were to be considered for an interview. Ask them if they are still interested in meeting with you and let them know you're still interested in the job. But they may have already found someone, since it's been that long. Call tomorrow just to make sure! :)

:(SInce you have the customers phone number, when the bank returns the check, and they will since it was not signed, call the customer and ask them to come in and sign the check.

Is it bad for your future to not have a job in highschool?

-I'm going to be a senior in highschool this year and still don't have a job. Will this hurt me and make it harder to find a job after i graduate if i want to be a ups/ fedex driver or over the road truck driver??It only hurts you personally as you've got little work experience. I'm 18 and work for an employer who gets me lots of random jobs around my town, so 1 day I could be in retail and another hauling boxes onto trucks, I have good idea of what I want to do from having gotten all this work experience.

You may want to be a van/truck driver now, but I'd recommend getting some driving jobs before hand, Pizza Delivery or something, see if you like it. Maybe work in retail.

As a young guy, you can work for loads of people and when you're an old fart telling your kids and their grandkids the stories of how you worked as a Pizza Delivery man and got stabbed for a Pepperoni pizza....having a job experience look alot better on your resume. &&& you'll have a "one up" on the others you graduate with, try applying as a driver at ALL you local pizza places, or anywhere that needs a delivery man! remember no matter the job dress to impress at interviews or even picking up an application.
If you want to be a usp driver or fed ex driver... It will not hurt you at all, in my opinion... Its best to get through school first then get a job unless you really need or want cash and your parents expect you to.. Ups and fedex drivers look for drivers with lots of experience and a clean driving record.. (no DWI's, drugs) and stuff like that...
It might. It might not . Depends. I think you should get a job. But a small job. Your still in high school, so maybe a small job at like a fast food restaurant. Just to make a little extra cash.
do not worry that. focus on the present. the part-time job will distract your attention unless u can handle it. when u graduate, there is enough time for u to get experience, but there is enough patience to study later.
No. Your fine! It's hard to find a job nowadays, especially for teens. But, I know that gap and oldnavy is hiring. Check there.
It hurts your future to have a job in high school. It trains you to be a slave.
Not really but i wont hurt
why to loose a chance to be senior?

Help!! I have a job interview tomorrow and i might be drug tested?

-So I have an unexpected job interview tomorrow and there's a possibility that I might be drug tested, I dont usually smoke canabis/weed but about 3 or so weeks ago I took some at a party. Is 3 weeks long enough for the THC (or whatever) to get out of my system? I heard running or eating oranges can help? Is this true? Another mate of mine told me to drink alot of Berocca? How or what can I do to prevent getting a failed result?

P.S , pls dont lecture me about not smoking weed because I dont do it often and after tomorrw I think I'll be put off it for life.Nothing you eat or drink is goung to get it out of your system any faster. Either you will pass, or you won't.

But, most employers do not drug tes as part on an interview. They drug tests just before extending an offer.I wouldnt stress over this. The drug testing usually comes after the extended offer (interview, etc).
Dont put it off your life. thats dumb. Weed lasts in your blood 30 days. urine 7 days. Water + a lot of sweating gets it out to. Dont quit tho thats dumb.

Next step for getting a job?

-I've had two interviews so far, one last Tuesday and the other was on the Wednesday, for Barnes and Noble. After the Wednesday interview I signed a release for a background check. Now that it's been almost 5 days should I continue to wait for a call a bit longer, call them, or do something else? I'm not even sure how long a background check takes to get back.Your best bet is to call their Personnel Department every two days and ask about the status of your employment, it shows initiative and willingness to work, also ask if the position you were applying for has been filled yet, if so ask if there are any other positions available.

You can also use this technique before you get an interview, 9 times out of 10 they will ask you to come in for an interview within the first 2 weeks :)How long it takes depends on what way they're doing it. By computer, a few short minutes. By paper & mail, it could take anywhere from a week to two weeks. You can call them back & ask how the process is coming along & tell them that you're interested in the job. It will give them the impression that you are serious about getting hired, which will be a plus in your favor.
You might want to wait for another week, if they dont call back in that time then you might want to look for another job.

What kind of job should i get?

-what kind of jobs can a 16 year old work in? &how many hours can they work in a day or week? btw i live in c.a. if that helps

What can i do? they're all so amazing!?

-I dont know how i managed it but i am speaking at a national conference in September and im terrified. I am the youngest person ever in my job role and will be talking & taking questions from scholars, amazing brainiacs and real "professionals" in their feilds. These ppl i look up to, aspire to be like, i dont feel like i have a right to be up there. It is no help that im a sucky public speaker too.

What am i gonna do????????Public speaking is probably one of everyone's fears! It is rare to find a person who doesn't get super nervous when in front of a crowd where all eyes are on you. This sounds like the chance of a life time for you! I don't think you would have gotten the gig if you weren't the perfect person for it. My advice to you is to come up with every possible question you think they could ask you about what ever topic you will be speaking about. Rehearse answers in your head. You never know what they could ask, but at least being some what prepared could never hurt.

Good luck!

Job ideas for a 15 year old girl during the summer?

-alright. so i'm 15 and i can't drive. plus, i live in the middle of nowhere. so it's not like i can do something like a paper route, or just walk to work somewhere. cause i (unfortunately) live in the country. well, you're probably gonna say babysitting, but honestly? it hasn't been working for me. and neither has "working around the house." i already get a small allowance for that. if you have ANY ideas to make a quick buck, i'd appreciate it so much. thanks. <33You could house-sit, or offer to walk/watch people's pets while they're out of town. You could have neighborhood "bake sales."

Where can i find a free data entry or simple typing job that has no fees, and you don't need experience?

12)thanks :)Congrats on pursuing a caregiving job. There's always a need for caregivers. Now, to answer your questions: 1.) Always wear a back brace & use a gait belt while working, to ensure your safety & the residents. When transfering someone, keep your feet apart evenly with your hips & use your leg muscles. I suggest you go to the library & read up on body mechanics. You will learn a lot of good techniques from such a book - too many to list here. 2.) To keep yourself awake throughout the night shift, you can clean wheelchairs, bedpans, urinals, coomon areas & the like. It's a tough shift to get used to, but there's always some cleaning to be done somewhere between rounds. 3.) I don't recommend that diapers be on residetns 24/7, unless they have the runs or something like that. The skin needs air so it won't breakdown & develop sores. For residents that are incontinent, place a diaper between their legs loosely, wrap a pad around them loosely to keep their bed from getting messed up. 4.) You chart I/O, bowel & bladder episodes, personal care (ADL's), behavior issues, ambulation. 5.) Address residents as Mr., Mrs., or Ms unless they give you permission to do so otherwise. Talk to them about themselves, such as the good old days - they love that. 6.) You can carry a notepad or piece on paper in your pocket, make a list of your residents, & each time they have an intake or output. When you get ready to chart, use it then. I wouldn't do it until close to the end of your shift though. 7.) Some places let you purchase meals, or you can take your own food too. 8.) Find someone to help you, so the resident doesn't get agitated, or have them show you what they're talking about 9.) Hospital - A wide variety of age groups with different issues (e.g. surgery, childbirth, outpatient, children, skilled care, acute (short-term care such as minor illness or accident, where they will return home. Nursing home - Usually all elderly, with the exception of some younger folks. Mainly long-term , meaning they're there forthe long haul. 10.) I worked every shift, but favored 2nd. I'd pass out fresh linens, GIVE OUT clean water pitchers w/ ice water, do vital signs, potty people, clean & turn bedridden residents, do baths & showers, help pass out dinner trays & feed residents, help put them to bed. I'd also help out the nurse & other aides as needed. No 2 days were ever alike. 11.) Find a book at the library about caregiving & read up. 13.) You're more than welcome.
