Wages For a Bookkeeper / Accounting Clerk in the Bay Area?

-So I am offered a permanent position as a bookkeeper / accounting clerk for this company.

The manager is asking for my proposed hourly wage.



Is 35-7K a year a fair offer? That comes to around $17 to $18 an hour



I believe the job is closer to "accounting clerk" then a Bookkeeper. Bookkeepers seems to get pay more according to online research (42K vs 36K on Indeed.com, or 45K vs 38K on Salary.com)
