-I've been working at McDonald's since February, but I received the job in December and I want to quit. I was given a really crap training program, so sometimes I'd not know how to do something and be blamed for it, or I'd do something as I've been taught and it was wrong again.
Before every shift I am literally sick to the stomach and up until I sign in, I want to ring up with and excuse to get out of it.
On top of that it's been stressful for me dealing with that, and the workload for such low pay. I got into trouble (sort of, not serious or anything) on Thursday night and told that the manager will ring me up in a couple of days. That night I broke down with all the stress of that and other things that have been mounting up and just cried.
I'm seriously thinking about telling the manager when she rings up that I want to quit. But how do I go about quitting? How do I avoid awkward questions like "Why do you want to quit?"? Should I even put my time at McDonald's on my resume for another job?Don't worry, if she asks you why you want to quit, explain. You've not been given great training , it's not your fault that you're not doing things the right way. Unless you've been taught in a proper and thorough way, you can't do things to a high standard. It's just the same as any skill, playing an instrument. You could just tell your manager you'd like to quit for some "personal" reasons or better yet, tell her the real reason so she'd understand why you have a low performance. Then maybe she'd understand and it wouldn't be a burden for you to hide the reason. And yes, I think you should write your time at McDonald's on your resume when you apply again because even if you had a crappy time there, experience still helps. ;)
just quit
Might want to put it in paper that you wish to resign on such and such date because they may ask for this, dont expect an arguement to erupt over you wishing to leave and them telling you cant she will probably just ask when do you want to hand in the notice and how long you have to give before you can officially pish off, however if your still in your probation period you could leave at any time just hand em your uniform.
I dont think their be to bothered, they probably know you hate working there anyways.
